It is a very difficult task to make a film/series on the events that took place during 1984 in Amritsar and Punjab, Delhi and India.. Even after 37 years, no filmmaker dares to tell the truth about Amritsar Attack/Operation Blue Star. It took 2 years to pen down the story, script, screenplay and then dialogues. Prominent Sikh journalist Surinder Singh researched well on the subject and Directed the show with Malkiat Singh & Samar Chauhan.

What happened at the Darbar Sahib Amritsar during June 1984 is shown in this TV series "And They Occupied Me". The conspiracies in the political corridors of Delhi have also been exposed behind all the events. It is the first series in the history of TV to feature more than 15 real-life victims of the massacre. A total of more than 400 actors and more than 100 film technicians have worked in this series. "And They Occupied Me" is produced by Parminder Singh Mangat and directed by Malkiat Singh Meet and Surinder Singh. Cinematography is by Luo Hungoi.
